Emirates has opened the first of its new signature lounge concept in Germany's Munich and Frankfurt airports, the carrier announced Tuesday.
The new lounges provide "more private areas" than previously available, including for meetings, and communal spaces for both social and working areas. The spaces also feature what Emirates called locally inspired dining, in-house baristas and mixologists, upgraded shower suites, dedicated male and female prayer rooms, and quiet zones. Each seat has wireless charging and universal power access.
Emirates lounges are available to first-class and business-class customers, as well as Emirates Skywards Platinum and Gold loyalty members, including those traveling in premium economy and economy class, according to the carrier. Paid access also is available.
New Emirates signature lounges are expected to open in July in Manchester, U.K., in August in Mauritius and in October in Istanbul.
Emirates will invest more than AED 50 million (US$13.6 million) in each lounge, according to the carrier.
