ITA Airways this fall will become part of the All Nippon Airways and Lufthansa Group joint venture, ANA and Lufthansa announced Monday.
The partnership will include the European network of ITA Airways, including Italy domestic and North Africa's Maghreb, as well as its route between Rome and Tokyo Haneda and ANA's domestic Japan network, according to the companies.
Passengers will be able to use the respective lounges in Rome and Tokyo, and there will be reciprocal loyalty program benefits.
The Europe Japan Joint Venture was founded in 2012 by Lufthansa and ANA, with Swiss and Austrian Airlines subsequently joining.
