This summer, Lufthansa Group will expand its Light economy
fares, which do not include checked luggage or seat selection, to transatlantic
routes served by Lufthansa, Swiss, Brussels Airlines and Austrian Airlines. The
fares also do not allow changes or cancellations, though they will include free
meals. Lufthansa has been using Light fares on European routes since 2015 and
has been testing it on routes between Scandinavia and North America since
October 2017.
