Global air traffic rose 6.5 percent year over year in January, and capacity grew 6.4 percent, according to the International Air Transport Association. Load factor inched up 0.1 percentage points to 79.6 percent. Crossborder traffic rose 6 percent while crossborder capacity rose 5.8 percent, and load factor rose 0.2 percentage points to 79.8 percent. Traffic on domestic flights increased 7.3 percent, while domestic capacity grew 7.5 percent. Domestic load factor slipped 0.1 percentage points to 79.3 percent.
