Avianca this week launched four new routes, including new services from Florida and Puerto Rico, the carrier announced Tuesday.
On March 30, Avianca launched daily flights between Medellín, Colombia, and Fort Lauderdale, Fla., as well as between Miami and San José, Costa Rica. On March 31, the carrier began flying four times weekly between Bogotá, Colombia, and Tampa, Fla., and three times weekly between San Juan and San José.
Each of the four new routes are being operated with Airbus A320 aircraft with capacity for 180 passengers. With the launch of the new routes, "we now have 43 direct routes connecting the United States with the rest of the Americas," Avianca CEO Frederico Pedreira said in a statement.
In addition, Avianca previously announced that on May 10 it would begin service between Miami and Guatemala City. Flights will operate daily with Airbus A320 aircraft.
