Avianca CEO Frederico Pedreira will step down from his role effective Feb. 28, 2026, the airline announced.
The carrier also named Avianca COO Gabriel Oliva to the role of president, effective immediately. He will concurrently serve both positions.
Oliva has more than 20 years of leadership experience, 14 of them in the aviation industry, according to Avianca. He joined the airline in 2021 as CEO of Avianca Cargo before becoming COO in August 2023. Oliva previously spent nearly 11 years at Latam, according to his LinkedIn profile.
Pedreira had been in the deputy CEO role since September 2023, and assumed full leadership in January 2024.
