American Airlines and Starlux Airlines now are codeshare
partners, the airlines announced Thursday.
American will place its code on Starlux-operated flights to
Taipei Taoyuan International Airport from Los Angeles, Ontario, Calif., San
Francisco and Seattle-Tacoma, according to the Dallas-based carrier. It also
will place its code on Starlux-operated flights between Phoenix and Taipei,
pending regulatory approval.
Further, American AAdvantage loyalty members will be able to
earn miles and points when booking an American codeshare operated by Starlux,
according to American.
With the codeshare, Starlux passengers from Taipei will be
able to connect to 20 North American cities on flights operated by American on
a single ticket and with baggage checked through to final destinations. Among
the cities included in the partnership are New York JFK, Boston, Philadelphia,
Atlanta, Charlotte, Miami, Orlando, Dallas-Fort Worth, Denver and Las Vegas,
according to Starlux.
