American Airlines and Canada-based carrier Porter Airlines have launched a new codeshare partnership, the airlines announced Monday.
American will place its code on select flights operated by Porter from Toronto Pearson International Airport. Canadian destinations available for sale include Edmonton, Halifax, Ottawa, Victoria and Winnipeg. Canadian destinations to be added in the coming weeks include Calgary, Charlottetown, Kelowna, St. John's, Saskatoon and Vancouver.
American also will place its code on Porter's flights between Toronto and Phoenix, with additional transborder flights to come, according to American.
Porter will place its code on select American transborder and domestic flights, including connections through American hubs in Charlotte, Chicago O'Hare, Dallas Fort Worth and Philadelphia, according to American. Cities available in the coming weeks include Honolulu, Nashville, New Orleans, Portland, Ore., Sacramento, Salt Lake City and San Jose, Calif.
Porter's code also will be placed on American's "southern network," including destinations in the Caribbean, Central America and South America, according to American.
Members of American's AAdvantage loyalty program who purchase a codeshare flight operated by Porter will earn both AAdvantage miles and loyalty points for the trip, according to American.
