United and Air Canada both are expanding service to South
America later this year. On Oct. 28, United will begin daily round-trip flights
between Newark and Buenos Aires, and from June 8 through Aug. 14, the carrier will
add a second flight from Newark to Bogota. On Dec. 16, Air Canada's low-cost
service Rouge will begin twice-weekly service between Montreal and Lima through
May 27. Air Canada also announced five other seasonal international routes:
- Dec. 1 through Feb. 4: service four times per
week on Air Canada between Vancouver and Melbourne
- Dec. 20 through April 8: service twice per week
on Rouge between Vancouver and Orlando
- Dec. 15 through April 13: weekly service on
Rouge between Toronto and Belize City
- Dec. 14 through April 12: weekly service on
Rouge between Toronto and St. Vincent in the Antilles
