Air India and Air Canada on Dec. 2 will reinstate their codeshare agreement, which had been suspended during the Covid-19 pandemic, Air India announced Saturday. Both carriers are part of the Star Alliance.
The agreement will allow Air India to place its code on Air Canada-operated flights on routes from Vancouver to each Calgary, Edmonton, Winnipeg, Montreal and Halifax, as well as from London Heathrow to each Vancouver and Calgary.
Air Canada customers will have seamless connectivity on Air India to each Amritsar, Ahmedabad, Mumbai, Hyderabad and Kochi via Delhi, and to each Delhi and Mumbai via London Heathrow, according to Air India.
In addition, frequent flyers can continue to earn and redeem points or miles on each carrier, and elite status holders of Air India's Maharaja Club loyalty program will continue to have Star Alliance Gold benefits with Air Canada-operated flights.
