Canada's Competition Bureau now allows banks to simultaneously issue both MasterCard- and Visa-branded cards or process such transactions
Prompted by the transition of MasterCard and Visa from member-owned associations to publicly held corporations, . To promote competitive markets, the bureau previously required banks to align with one card association or the other, but not both.
