AirPlus International and Wright Express Financial Services Corp. partnered on a new MasterCard product
. In development since last year, the new MasterCard offering could replace--should customers agree--existing AirPlus co-branded MasterCards issued by GE Money Corporate Payment Services, acquired last month by American Express. Although known for its fleet management, Wright provides both travel and entertainment and procurement cards to corporations. The new co-branded cards offers an "improved insurance offering, access to new technology, premier customer service, a user-friendly online portal, flexible billing and liability options, and the industry’s best data," the companies stated.
