Total U.S. travel agency air ticket transactions settled through ARC rose 10 percent year over year in May, as total air sales fell 3 percent. Including American Express Global Business Travel, BCD Travel, Carlson Wagonlit Travel, Egencia, HRG and Omega World Travel, mega travel agency air transactions rose 1 percent, according to ARC data. ARC transactions via online travel agencies rose 10 percent, while the group of travel agencies ARC classifies as "other" posted an increase of nearly 14 percent. The dollar value of air tickets sold by United States-based travel agencies and settled through ARC fell 4 percent year over year through the first five months of 2016, while transactions rose 6 percent.
