As luxury hotelier Shangri-La Group expands from Asia, it will distribute its content on Chinese travel conglomerate Ctrip, which, according to accommodation business unit chief business officer David Zhou, boasts 300 million users. A media release said one in four Chinese travelers book on Ctrip and inferred hefty outbound bookings, thus claiming Ctrip is "the largest outbound travel platform in Asia." Shangri-La Group brands include Shangri-La Hotels & Resorts, Kerry Hotels, Traders Hotels and Hotel Jen. The Chinese mainland hosts 55 Shangri-La properties, and another 42 lie elsewhere in Asia. The Middle East has eight, Oceana four, Europe three and Canada and Africa two each.
