Sabre appointed Alfred de Cárdenas to fill the
new role of chief commercial officer of Sabre Travel Network, which includes
the global distribution system and new traveler
experience businesses. He'll head global sales, sales operations and
business development. That includes oversight of regional senior vice
presidents and vice presidents, according to a Sabre spokesperson. Among those
reporting to de Cárdenas is Ricardo Carreón, whom Sabre Travel Network has
installed as vice president of the recently restructured
Latin America and the Caribbean region. De Cárdenas will report to Sabre Travel
Network president Sean Menke, who cited de Cárdenas' experience at companies
that have major overseas operations, such as telecommunications firm Nortel
Networks and software-as-a-service cloud company Syniverse Technologies.
