Corporate Travel Management is expanding its Sleep Space hotel commerce platform into North America as the first phase of a planned global expansion, the travel management company announced.
CTM launched Sleep Space—which the TMC said provides hotels with a distribution option that "reduces third-party booking costs" and enables distribution through both online and offline channels—in Australia and New Zealand last year. Since that launch, CTM said that more than 900,000 rooms have been booked through the platform with rates averaging 13 percent below the market average.
Content from Sleep Space now is available in North America through the TMC's Lightning online booking tool. It will be available through Concur by the end of the year, according to CTM.
The expansion "is a key milestone in CTM's global strategy to deliver improved value through innovation in corporate travel," CTM chief partnership officer for North American and global hotel programs Erik Shor said in a statement. "By leveraging our direct hotel partnerships, we are delivering better rates, added-value inclusions, and a more seamless booking experience for our customers to support reduced leakage and higher compliance, while giving hotels access to a highly engaged corporate audience at a lower cost of distribution."
