BCD Travel and Air France-KLM have reached an agreement in
which BCD agents can book reservations with the carrier without incurring the
11 euro per-way surcharge that goes into effect April 1, the travel management
company announced. Both Amadeus and Travelport this week reported that they have reached
private channel agreements with Air France-KLM for select agencies, chosen by
the carriers, to avoid the global distribution system surcharge, according to a
report by BTN sister publication The Beat. As of Friday, Sabre remained in
negotiations for a private channel agreement, and BCD said it is
"optimistic" that Sabre would support its agreement with Air
France-KLM.
