Bayer reduced its Scope 3 greenhouse gas emissions by 12 percent between 2019 and 2025, which includes business travel. An additional reduction of 3.5 percent is expected by the end of 2029.
Actions so far to reduce business travel emissions have included an increased use of virtual meetings and the creation of an information page for employees on the connection between travel and sustainability.
Bayer also offset greenhouse gas emissions resulting from air travel. In 2025, 130,000 metric tons of carbon dioxide equivalents were offset.
