BTN estimates technology and
entertainment giant Sony Corporation of America booked $66
million in U.S. air travel in 2024.
SONAM is the U.S. headquarters of
Tokyo’s Sony Group Corporation. Divisions under SONAM include Sony Electronics,
Sony Pictures Entertainment, Sony Music Entertainment, Sony Music Publishing,
and Sony Interactive Entertainment LLC, among others. SPE, based in Culver
City, Calif., is the entity
that sources and negotiates business travel on behalf of SONAM.

with travel management company partners
per division; for example, SPE
uses internal
U.S.
domestic agency
SEG (Sony
Enterprise Group) Travel, but Sony
Music uses BCD globally.
The Sony
travel program in 2024 has been working with large
language model-driven artificial intelligence travel booking
interface SkyLink to implement
conversation-based AI booking capabilities for the travel program. The
company also in 2024 homed in on an airfare assurance provider.
Consolidated sales and financial
services revenue for Sony Group in FY2024
totaled $86.5
billion, down
approximately $5 billion from the
previous fiscal year. Sony
Financial Group is expected to
complete its spin-off from the larger
company on Sept.
29, becoming a separately listed company on
the Tokyo Stock Exchange.
