Food and beverage conglomerate PepsiCo's U.S. -booked air spending in 2024 dipped slightly year over year, according to a BTN estimate.
PepsiCo in 2025 altered its goal for reducing Scope 3 carbon emissions, a category that includes business travel. The company now aims to achieve a 42 percent reduction in Scope 3 energy and industry emissions by 2030 against a 2022 baseline, a category that includes well-to-tank emissions for business air travel.
PepsiCo since 2021 has charged an internal carbon fee to the cost of each flight undertaken by employees under a program called Business Travel Inset Program, or B-Tip. Revenue from the program is reinvested into regenerative agriculture projects.
PepsiCo's net revenue in 2024 increased less than 1 percent year over year to nearly $91.9 billion. The company at the end of 2024 employed 319,000 people, up about 1,000 from one year prior. About 134,000 of the company's employees are in the United States.
