air spending at technology and communications conglomerate Cisco
Systems in 2024 increased more than 10 percent
year over year, and it appears
set for additional growth in 2025.
Cisco's
business travel, including air, ground
and rail travel along with hotel stays, in fiscal year 2024, which ended at the
end of July 2024, increased less than 2 percent year over year to nearly
220,000 metric tons of carbon dioxide
equivalent. Cisco is the parent company of videoconferencing technology Webex.
The company
in March 2024 completed the $28 billion
acquisition, the largest in Cisco's history, of software company Splunk.
Cisco's
fiscal year 2024 revenue declined 6 percent year over year to $53.8
billion, then in fiscal year 2025 increased 5
percent to $56.7 billion.
Cisco at the end of July 2024 had about 90,400 employees
worldwide.
Cisco has
begun to deploy some AI functionality for auditing expense
reports.
