BTN estimates that media and entertainment services company Netflix spent $48.3 million in U.S.-booked air travel in 2024.
The company's business travel was up year over year, with 136,259 metric tons of carbon for business travel reported for the year, compared with 94,259 metric tons in 2023. That comparison is skewed by "abnormally low" emissions in 2023, which saw work stoppages related to the months-long WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes. In 2022, Netflix reported 105,756 metric tons of carbon emissions from business travel.
Netflix reported $39 billion in total revenues in 2024, up 16 percent year over year, and a net income of $8.7 billion, up from $5.4 billion in 2023. As of the end of 2024, Netflix reported 14,000 full-time employees, 69 percent of whom are located in the U.S. and Canada. That's up from 13,000 reported at the end of 2023.
