2024 U.S.-Booked Air Volume: $156 million
Consolidated U.S. TMC: BCD
Mega shipping company FedEx spent $156 million on U.S.-booked air
travel for employees in 2024, according to BTN estimates.
The company announced in December 2024 that it plans to spin off a
separate division, FedEx Freight, into its own publicly traded company. The
separation is expected to take about 18 months
to complete.
FedEx's carbon footprint related to business travel for
the year through May 2024 was about
176,300
metric tons of carbon dioxide equivalent. That figure is more than double the approximately
79,700 tCO2e
from the prior year.
FedEx reported consolidated
revenue for its fiscal year ending
May 31, 2025, of $87.9 billion,
compared with
prior-year revenue of $87.7 billion.
It employed approximately 440,000
employees as of that date, up slightly from the
430,000 reported a year earlier. About 40,000 of those individuals work for
FedEx Freight.
