Siwek Replaces Ball As Apex Tech Chair

Industry technology veteran E. J. Siwek, president and founder of FlashPoint Technologies LLC of Bethel, Conn., has been named chairman of the Convention Industry Council's Apex Technology Council. Siwek—perhaps best known for the Meeting Matrix application developed by another company he founded, SCLM Software Inc., now known as Meeting Matrix International Inc. of Shrewsbury, Pa.—replaces consultant and speaker Corbin Ball as head of the committee. Ball, president of Bellingham, Wash.-based Corbin Ball Associates, resigned due to the increasing demands of his company. The Apex Technology Council is one of several industrywide taskforces assembled by CIC to develop standards and practices for several aspects of the industry.
