MICE Travel Comprises 45% Of Chinese Biz Travel
Chinese business travelers spent US$110 billion on meeting, incentive, convention and exhibition travel in 2014, according to the Global Business Travel Association. MICE travel comprises nearly 45 percent of total business travel spending in China. Shanghai, Beijing and Guangzhou hosted more than three-quarters of that volume. In the past 12 months, 86 percent of Chinese business travelers have taken a MICE-oriented trip in their home country, spending an average of $1,100 each.
