The GBTA Foundation and StarCite unveiled the
Strategic Meetings Management Maturity Index, a model that measures and analyzes
meetings program development and implementation.
Users of the index, first announced a year ago, would
complete an online questionnaire about their SMM programs. Taking into account parameters
like company size and using preloaded benchmarks, the model then gauges the user's
progress in 13 SMM categories, including strategy, sourcing and procurement,
data analysis and reporting, policy and technology, according to a statement
from the organizations.
"The SMM Maturity Index will drive the meetings
industry forward by bringing invaluable know-how to organizations at every step
along the path toward a best in class program," according to a statement
from Daphne Bryant, executive director of the GBTA Foundation, which is the
research and education arm of the Global Business Travel Association. We're
excited to build on the success of the SMM Maturity Model to launch the next
evolution of this essential industry framework."
