United Airlines parent company UAL Corp in the first quarter posted a net loss of $152 million

, marking a $70 million year-over-year improvement excluding reorganization items. The company said cost per available seat mile in the March period fell more than 4 percent. Passenger revenues fell 4 percent in North America, but rose 5 percent in United's Pacific operation and 16 percent over the Atlantic.
