United Airlines mobile app users now can scan their passports for mobile check-in on international flights,

the carrier announced Wednesday. With the new functionality, users with iOS and Android mobile devices either verify a stored passport or scan their passport with their device's camera and then receive a boarding pass. Travelers requiring visas or other additional documentation still must check in at the airport.
