US Airways will cut fourth-quarter capacity by as much as 8 percent and charge many passengers $15 to check one piece of luggage
. The airline also plans to sharply reduce Las Vegas operations; charge most passengers $2 for inflight beverages; close some airport clubs; raise call center and ticket office fees; charge redemption fees on frequent flyer award tickets; and eliminate 1,700 jobs.
