US Airways posted a first-quarter net loss of $114 million
, more than double the loss from the year-earlier period, attributable to a $240 million year-over-year increase in quarterly jet fuel costs. Total passenger revenues increased more than 12 percent to nearly $2.6 billion on "strong demand" and "a series of fare increases."
