U.S. Department of Transportation asked Star Alliance airline members and Continental Airlines to provide additional information as part of their application for expanded antitrust immunity

Among its requests, DOT told the airlines to "discuss the current environment for obtaining, managing, and evaluating corporate and travel agency contracts," including "the state of competition" for such contracts. DOT also asked the airlines to detail the structure of corporate and travel agency contracts; "the degree to which the contracts require customers to guarantee exclusive travel among airlines or partners"; "the volume of traffic necessary to justify a corporate and travel agency contract and various methods for pricing"; "the number of existing corporate and travel agency contracts affecting transatlantic markets"; and other information.
