Other Continental execs chosen for the senior leadership team, according to a company memo, include Mark Bergsrud as SVP of marketing, Leon Kinloch as SVP of pricing/revenue management and Greg Hart as SVP for network planning/scheduling. Three more Continental people were named senior vice presidents, while seven United executives obtained SVP roles in airport operations, technical operations, systems operations control, labor relations, loyalty business, corporate strategy and alliances. Reporting to Hilfman in sales would be Charles Duncan (Europe, Middle East, India and Africa sales) and John Slater (Americas sales) from Continental and United's James Mueller for Pacific sales.
United and Continental expect their proposed merger to close on Oct. 1.
