The countries plan to develop reciprocity between Germany's Automated and Biometrics-Supported Border Controls and the U.S. Global Entry program, which already is
linked to a similar Dutch system. U.S. officials in 2008 also announced plans to develop a bilateral trusted traveler program with the United Kingdom. According to DHS, Global Entry now has 42,000 enrolled members using the system
at 20 U.S. airports.
