The United States and Germany intend to "integrate" their trusted traveler programs, according to the U.S. Department of Homeland Security.

The countries plan to develop reciprocity between Germany's Automated and Biometrics-Supported Border Controls and the U.S. Global Entry program, which already is linked to a similar Dutch system. U.S. officials in 2008 also announced plans to develop a bilateral trusted traveler program with the United Kingdom. According to DHS, Global Entry now has 42,000 enrolled members using the system at 20 U.S. airports.
