The U.S. Federal Communications Commission approved inflight connectivity provider Row 44 to operate broadband Internet service on aircraft over the Atlantic

Row 44 claimed the approval makes it "the only provider allowed to operate and charge for in-flight broadband connectivity on transatlantic flights," though the company has yet to identify an airline that would carry the service across the Atlantic. Lufthansa late last year began rolling out onboard Internet on transatlantic routesbut has yet to charge for the service.
