The U.S. Department of Homeland Security signed memoranda of understanding with Hungary, Lithuania and Slovakia for participation in the U.S. Visa Waiver Program
. Previously enrolled nations included the Czech Republic, Estonia and Latvia. The European Commission said it wants to begin negotiations with the United States on a common VWP framework for all European Union member states.
