The Indian government will not permit Lufthansa to fly an Airbus A380 on its Frankfurt-Delhi service
. The German carrier had planned to introduce the superjumbo on the route from May 15. Indian officials have said the additional capacity could harm business for competing Indian airlines. The protectionist stance could have furhter consequences in India, one of the world's fastest growing aviation markets. Industry consultants say Gulf carriers and other airlines have cities such as Delhi and Mumbai high on their lists for deploying their A380 aircraft.
