Southwest Airlines in April regained the top spot in the major U.S. carriers' on-time performance rankings

with an 83.3 percent punctuality rate, according to the latest government statistics. US Airways and Delta Air Lines, which took turns atop the rankings during the previous five months, slid to fourth and seventh, respectively. American Airlines (65.3 percent) placed last for the third consecutive month.
