Sixty-one percent of 200 senior finance executives polled by American Express expect their organizations in 2013 to spend the same or more on business travel,
and 64 percent "do not anticipate that corporate travel policies will loosen." According to Amex, the November survey found "a notable disparity between companies' brighter view of their own prospects and concerns about sluggish economic growth in the U.S. and in key regions around the world, including the U.K. and Europe." For example, for their own organizations in 2013, 75 percent anticipate higher revenues and 69 percent project increased profits. But overall for Continental Europe, 63 percent expect that economy's performance to worsen next year.
