Porter Airlines said it received clearance from the U.S. Department of Transportation to begin cross-border scheduled and charter service to the United States

Canada's . Porter said it would first operate to Newark Liberty International Airport "not later than the early part of 2008," with plans to ultimately serve Boston, Chicago, Cincinnati, Cleveland, Detroit, Philadelphia, Pittsburgh and Washington. Porter currently flies between Toronto City Centre Airport and both Montreal and Ottawa.
