In a filing to the U.S. Department of Transportation regarding their request for antitrust immunity, American Airlines, British Airways, Finnair, Iberia Airlines and Royal Jordanianalso noted that their combined share of New York-Heathrow traffic dropped more than 11 percentage points to 45.8 percent. The airlines cited services initiated at Heathrow by five new competitors since the activation of the U.S.-European Union Open Skies agreement, amounting to "4,000" new daily seats.
