Northwest Airlines and the Professional Flight Attendants Association scheduled new contract negotiations for today

, following the union's announcement last week that members had rejected the latest tentative agreement. PFAA said management at the bankrupt carrier "agreed temporarily to step back from threats to abrogate the flight attendants' current contract and impose new terms until at least June 30." In turn, PFAA agreed not to strike before that date.
