JetBlue Airways became the first U.S. carrier to report an improved first-quarter result, an $8 million net loss versus a $22 million net loss from a year earlier
. The carrier posted a 33 percent jump in passenger revenue to $748 million. "We continue to see healthy demand throughout our network, and we are encouraged with the industry's more disciplined approach to capacity," said CEO Dave Barger. JetBlue will slow its planned 2008 capacity growth to 3 to 5 percent.
