Jet Airways and Kingfisher Airlines announced plans for "an alliance of wide-ranging proportions
Indian airlines ." The pact would include domestic and international code sharing, interline fares, "cross selling of flight inventories using the common global distribution system platform" and other areas of cooperation. The two carriers said they would "be able to rationalize their operations and derive the maximum synergies and thereby offer the best possible fares for the benefit of the consumers."
