Frequent flyer programs and "premium economy class" hold little sway in influencing traveler choice of airlines
, according to a recent Barclaycard survey of 4,000 U.K. business travelers. Nearly half, 46 percent, said they mostly flew in economy class during 2006, while 31 percent said they traveled most on low-cost/no frills carriers. Just 1 percent said they flew in first class, 7 percent in premium economy and 14 percent in business class. Meanwhile, only 2 percent of respondents said they pick an airline based on the loyalty program.
