Delta Air Lines posted a second-quarter net profit of $198 million "despite more than $1 billion higher fuel expense."
That compared to net income of $467 million a year earlier. Passenger revenue jumped 13 percent to $7.9 billion, as traffic edged upward by 1 percent, passenger unit revenue rose 10 percent and yield increased 12 percent.
