Delta Air Lines achieved third-quarter net income of $51 million excluding $212 million in one-time items.
Including those items, the company's net loss grew to $161 million from $50 million a year earlier. Since closing its merger with Northwest Airlines in October 2008, Delta renegotiated "more than 600 corporate contracts to date, generating incremental business traffic."
