Continental Airlines lost $266 million in the fourth quarter
, compared with a $32 million loss a year earlier. The airline cited "weakening economic conditions and highly volatile fuel prices," as well as $170 million in one-time items. For full-year 2008, Continental finished $585 million in the red versus a $459 million net gain in 2007.
