Continental Airlines and China Southern Airlines announced a "strategic partnership"

including code sharing and reciprocal frequent flyer and airport lounge programs. Codeshare flights would start in November, covering Continental's Newark-Beijing service and China Southern's Guangzhou-Los Angeles service. China Southern plans to join Continental in the SkyTeam alliance by the end of 2007.
