Construction on a new central terminal for New York City’s LaGuardia Airport will begin in 2016,
pending approval from The Port Authority of New York & New Jersey board of directors, New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo announced. The first half of the terminal, a $4 billion project managed by private/public partnership LaGuardia Gateway Partners, is slated to open in 2019 and be completed 18 months later. Delta Air Lines will develop the second half of the terminal “on a parallel track” with the first half, according to Cuomo.
