Avis Budget Group reported second-quarter net income of $52 million,

doubling last year's second-quarter profit, the company reported Wednesday. Daily domestic rental volumes grew 8 percent year over year, offsetting domestic pricing that fell 2 percent. Though Avis Budget reported a 13 percent increase in international pricing, it was "essentially unchanged" when excluding the impact of foreign currency exchange. International rental volumes grew 6 percent year over year.
